Human Nativeness

I wear it on my sleaves,
My skin reflects my adversity,
The drum beats show my anger,
My distain with what you have done to the land,
My chanting echos the crys of my ancestors,
No longer will I allow you to cage my nativeness,
Silence, no
Quiet, no
Whisper, no
I will drum,
I will chant,
You will hear my pain,
I will wear symbols of it,
I will write poetry of it,
You will see my pain,
We are human,
Only some of us hide it.
